Black Pepper Steak rice

Ingredients

  • 150 grams steak

  • 25 grams Melttown black pepper butter

  • 1/2 cup rice (uncooked)

  • 1/2 cup sweet corn (fresh or frozen)

  • Garnish: 1 spring onion (chopped) and 1/2 red chili (sliced)

Preparation

Step 1


  •    Season the steak with salt and pepper, if desired.

  •    Chop 1 spring onion and slice 1/2 red chili for garnish.



Step 2


  •    Cook 1/2 cup of rice according to package instructions and set aside.



Step 3


  •    If using fresh corn, boil or steam until tender.

  •    If using frozen corn, cook according to package instructions and set aside.



Step 4


  •    Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add 25 grams of Melttown black pepper butter.



Step 5


  •    Once the butter is melted and hot, add the steak to the pan.

  •    Cook the steak to your desired level of doneness (about 3-5 minutes per side for medium rare, depending on thickness).

  •    Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing.


Step 6


  •    Serve the steak over a bed of rice.

  •    Add the sweet corn on the side.

  •    Garnish with chopped spring onions and sliced red chili.
